Welcome to QUIZI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Quick Summary: We collect minimal data needed to provide our service. Your study materials are processed locally on your device. We don't sell your data to third parties.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide
- Language Preference: Your selected language for quiz generation
- Theme Preference: Your choice of light or dark mode
- Anonymous Account Identifier: A random Firebase UID created automatically on sign-in
- Quiz History: Generated quiz data and study history (stored locally on device)
2. Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, OS version, unique device installation ID
- Usage Data: App features used, quiz generation frequency, performance metrics
- Device Security Metadata: Integrity tokens from Firebase App Check (App Attest on iOS / Play Integrity on Android)
- Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Messaging token (only if push notifications are enabled)
- Subscription Status: Managed through RevenueCat
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
- Location data
- Contact lists or address books
Photos: Photos taken with your camera are processed entirely in-memory on your device to extract text. We do not store, upload, or collect your photos on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide Services: Generate quizzes in your selected language
- App Functionality: Save your preferences and settings
- Process Subscriptions: Manage free/pro account status through App Store/Google Play
- Improve Our Service: Analyze anonymous usage patterns to enhance features

Important: Text extraction from images happens entirely on your device. We do not upload or store your photos or extracted text on our servers.

Data Security
- Encryption: All API communications use secure HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Local Storage: Quizzes and preferences stored on-device using platform-secure methods (Hive/SharedPreferences)
- No Cloud Storage of Study Materials: We do not store your documents or extracted text on our servers
- Secure AI Processing: Text sent to Gemini is processed securely and not retained by Google under our enterprise configuration
Data Retention
- Local App Data: Generated quizzes, results, and settings remain on your device until you reset or uninstall the app
- Camera Images: Deleted from temporary cache immediately after text extraction — never retained
- AI Processing Data: Processed in-memory and discarded immediately after the response is returned
- Firebase Credentials: Anonymous accounts remain active to secure API access; deletable via "Reset App Data" in settings
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request information about data we have about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data
- Opt-out: Opt-out of analytics collection
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time

California residents have additional rights under CCPA. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Children's Privacy
QUIZI is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us immediately so we can take steps to remove that information.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. By using QUIZI, you consent to the transfer of information to countries including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or updating the app's description in app stores.
